The “Adem” exhibition, centered on the theme of freedom, was organized by the Kunsthalte platform (Freedom Combination Foundation) in collaboration with S.A.N.A.T. Foundation and supported by the Een Wereld Project, at the Heerenveen Library. Artists and visitors from diverse cultural backgrounds came together in a shared space.
At the opening, Melek Öztürk (Een Wereld Project) highlighted the importance of intercultural interaction, while Miranda de Boer (Heerenveen Municipality) emphasized the unifying power of art. Canan Sarlar (Kunsthalte) shared the concept behind the exhibition and how art offers expression after challenging life experiences.
The works explored themes such as migration, identity, oppression, freedom of expression, and the search for liberty. Each piece was seen as a metaphorical “breath.” Workshops and interactive sessions encouraged visitor participation.
“Adem” reflected the joint vision of both foundations to support artistic expression and freedom of expression. The exhibition was open to visitors until June 30.
